TAXES
Donationware by STEPHEN E. ELLIS
Copyright 1992
TAXES will tell you how much tax should be withheld from your weekly
paycheck. To compute taxes for Bi-weekly payroll, use TAX-BIWK. For
Semi-monthly payroll, use TAX-SM.
The tax programs were written in "C++" and compiled using the
Borland C/C++ compiler. The programs use formulas supplied by the IRS to
compute FICA, FEDERAL TAX and STATE TAX. Many companies use tax tables to
compute payroll tax, however these programs use a formula rather
than a tax table, so the actual tax withheld from your check may differ from
the results you get using my programs.
To use TAXES simply type TAXES for weekly payroll, TAX-BIWK for
biweekly payroll or TAX-SM for semi-monthly payroll, and answer the questions
it asks you. Answer either s or m when asked for marital status.
If you do not answer this question properly, the results will be for a
single person. You must answer all questions or the program will not
continue. Answer 0 if there was no overtime worked and 0 if there was
no commission or tips.
To compute salaried wages, enter the salary amount for the number of
hours worked and 1 for the rate per hour.
That's all there is to it!
